A YOUNG farmer will spend two years behind bars for driving over his best friend’s girlfriend.
John Forbes, of Westmere, west of Ballarat was drunk and on drugs at a music festival when he drove over Katie Louise Broadbent, 35, of Yarraville.
The Age reports, The 24-year-old had been camping at the Got Milk music festival in Rochester for the Australia Day long weekend this year when, at 6am, he jumped in his car, threw it in reverse and backed over a nearby tent.

His best mate’s girlfriend had been sleeping in the tent and was found dead about three hours later.
Forbes was today sentenced to a four-year jail term with a minimum of two years before parole eligibility.
