Man killed after tanker collides with ute

A MAN has been killed in a shocking two-car crash near Nowra, on the NSW South Coast.

Police said a small tanker truck collided head-on with a ute on Bolong Road at Coolangatta about 3pm.

Tragically, the driver and sole occupant of the truck, a man aged in his 60s, died at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the utility, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to Wollongong Hospital with suspected leg and abdominal injuries.

He will also undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Police from South Coast Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatality and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
