Man killed after ute careens into tree

A YOUNG man has been killed in a single-vehicle crash in Central West New South Wales.

It happened on Cope Road at Cope, about 50km north of the town of Mudgee, earlier this morning.

Police said a Toyota Hilux left the road and collided with a tree about 7.40am.


Sadly, the 20-year-old man who had been driving the Hilux died at the scene.

He was the only person travelling in the vehicle at the time.

The road was closed for several hours while the scene was examined and the wreckage cleared.

Officers from Orana-Mid Western Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
