Man killed, four teens injured, when car slams into tree

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a shocking car accident north of Brisbane, which has claimed the life of a young man.

The 24-year-old died, when the car he was driving lost control at Murrumba Downs, in the Moreton Bay region, and hit a tree on Friday afternoon.

“Preliminary inquiries indicate the car was travelling south on Castle Hill Drive when it passed through the Kingshand Street roundabout and crashed into a tree on the opposite side of the road,” Police explained in a statement.

“The 24-year-old male driver from Murrumba Downs was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“A 17-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

“Two other male passengers aged 17 and 18 and an 18-year-old female passenger were transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.”
