Man killed in crash in small town near Sydney

A man has died following a crash in the small town of Maroota, north-west of Sydney on Saturday.

The accident happened around 9.30am on Wisemans Ferry Road when a 60-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene, however despite their best efforts to keep the rider alive, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and Wisemans Ferry Road closed in both directions for several hours while the site was examined.
