A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed in a horror crash while trying to overtake a vehicle in Central Queensland.
It happened on the Dawson Highway at Gladstone about 6.45am on Thursday.
Police have confirmed a 44-year-old man from Brisbane was killed in the accident.

It’s understood the man was attempting to overtake a vehicle when his motorcycle left the road near Police Creek and smashed through a guard rail.
Sadly, the Brisbane man’s injuries were too severe and he could not be saved.
Police confirmed the the 44-year-old rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
