Man killed in horror gyrocopter crash

THE body of a man has been found following a gyrocopter crash near Moree in NSW.

Emergency services were called to a property on Mount Jerrybang Road around 1.30pm on Sunday, following reports a recreational light aircraft had crashed.

Initial inquiries indicate the gyrocopter crashed into a combine harvester at the property.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found the body of a 50-year-old man.

There were no other passengers onboard the aircraft.

The Australian Sports Rotorcraft Association and Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified of the fatal crash.
