Man pleads not guilty to attempted murder of Big Brother contestant Sam Wallace

A MAN accused of shooting former Big Brother contestant Sam Wallace in the leg has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder on the first day of his trial.

Anthony Yoon Sun Soong appeared in Southport Supreme Court on Tuesday charged over the December 2015 incident.

The court heard the shooting, which happened in the carpark of Mike’s Kitchen at Merrimac, was the result of a love triangle gone awry and mistaken identity.

The 25-year-old is alleged to have shot at Wallace whilst he was sitting in his car, after mistakenly believing he was the man dating his ex-girlfriend.

Soong has pleaded guilty to a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed, burglary and common assault.

The trial continues.
