VIOLENCE erupted during the University of Queensland student union elections yesterday, with one student punched in the head.
The incident, which occurred around 2pm on Monday afternoon, was caught on film and uploaded to social media.

The footage shows a student running down the street holding a flyer when a man chasing him appears to punch him in the back of the head.
The pair then wrestle on the ground before others attempt to break them up.
The ABC reports the alleged attacker had been handing out flyers which were making derogatory and defamatory remarks about the incumbents.
A 21-year-old Camp Hill man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and common assault. He is due to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 28.
