Man on the run after escaping from NSW police station

A man is on the run after escaping from police custody at Miranda overnight.

Just after 8.30pm, police were called to Kitchener Place at Caringbah after receiving reports of a break and enter.

Upon arrival, officers arrested a 31-year-old man following a short struggle and transported him to Miranda Police Station.


While at the station, the man has somehow managed to escape and has not yet been found.

He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 177cm tall, of thin build with brown hair and eyes. When he was last seen the man was wearing a dark green tracksuit top and faded blue jeans.

Police say an internal investigation is being conducted into the events leading up to the man’s escape.
