Man seriously hurt in Southport crash

A MOTORCYCLIST has been rushed to hosptial in a serious condition following a nasty crash in Southport.

It’s understood the motorcycle collided with a car at the intersection of High and North streets around 3pm.

The rider, a man of unknown age, was seriously injured after being thrown from his bike.


He was treated by ambulance officers and critical care paramedics at the scene before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The man was transported in a serious but stable condition.

Traffic was thrown into disarray with motorists heading north on High Street backed up for several kilometres immediately following the crash.
