A MAN has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after a horror workplace accident at Helensvale this morning.
Emergency crews were called to a location on La Trobe Avenue at 11.10am, following reports heavy machinery had landed on a worker.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed to myGC that the incident involved an excavator.

Three crews including the High Acuity Response Unit and Critical Care Paramedic responded to the accident and treated the man for a number of significant injuries to his chest.
He’s since been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
