Man shot by police after brandishing knife in Sydney hospital

A MAN has been shot by police at a hospital in Sydney’s west.

The shooting occurred inside the Nepean Hospital after a man allegedly pulled out a knife about 4pm.

It’s understood the man was shot in the abdomen after making threats. His condition is not known.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet clear.

No other person is believed to have been harmed during the ordeal.

A heavy police presence remains at the hospital.
