Man fights for life after Gold Coast crash

UPDATE at 3:50 PM | A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital following a horror crash near Nerang.

It happened on Nerang-Murwillumbah Road at Advancetown just before 7.30am on Sunday.

It’s understood a 53-year-old man lost control of a motorbike and crashed into a guard rail.

In a statement on Sunday afternoon, police said the man sustained serious internal injuries.

He was treated at the scene before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Earlier on Sunday, a Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the man’s injuries were “extensive”.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

FIRST at 8:50 AM | A MAN has been rushed to hospital with extensive injuries following a shocking crash near Nerang.

Emergency services were called to a motorcycle accident on Nerang-Murwillumbah Road at Advancetown on Sunday morning.

They arrived to find a man with extensive serious injuries.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken by ambulance to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Queensland Ambulances said the man was transported in a serious condition.

His age was not immediately known.
