Man thrown from bike and killed

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after being thrown from his bike in a shocking crash in Sydney’s northwest.

Police said the man lost control of his bike and struck a barrier on the Colo River Bridge in Colo just after 10.30 on Saturday morning.

The rider was thrown from his bike on impact and sustained life-threatening injuries.

Sadly, the man could not be saved and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His age is not known.

Officers from Hawkesbury Police District have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Colo River Bridge was expected to remain closed for several hours while the scene is examined.

Motorists are urged to monitor Live Traffic NSW for alternate routes.
