Man wakes up after being shot in the head by police

AN ALLEGED thief, shot in the head by police at Logan two weeks ago, has woken from his coma.

Mitchell Jovic was shot by police at Rocheldale on October 21 after allegedly stealing a ride-on-mower and driving at police as he tried to flee.

He’s been in a critical condition in the Princess Alexandra Hospital since the incident and wasn’t given a good chance at recovering.

The 29-year-old woke up on Sunday and reportedly said his name to doctors when they asked if he knew who he was.

It’s understood he will need to undergo months of treatment.

Police won’t interview him about the incident until his condition improves.
