DETECTIVES investigating the brutal assault of a young man in Brisbane are pleading for witnesses to come forward as they try and identify his attacker.
The 21-year-old’s face was fractured during an altercation outside a licensed premises in Fortitude Valley during the early hours of Sunday, August 5.
Police say “a large group of people” were involved in the altercation, which erupted outside a venue on Ann Street about 1.43am.

In a statement on Saturday, detectives investigating the assault appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Anyone who was in the area between 1.30am and 2am on August 5 who may be able to assist with investigations is urged to contact police.
Detectives are particularly interested in speaking with any pedestrians who may have mobile phone footage of the incident, or drivers with dash cam vision.
