Marc Leishman claims PGA win at Bay Hill

Australian golfer Marc Leishman has booked himself a Masters berth after taking out the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Florida.

Leishman started the day three shots behind American leaders Kevin Kisner and Charley Hoffman but managed to grab the outright lead by holing a 51-foot eagle putt on the par-5 16th before making par saves on the last two holes.

It’s only the 33-year-old’s second US PGA Tour victory.

The news wasn’t all good for Australia, with Jason Day finishing well off the pace at two-under.

World No.3 Rory McIlroy put on a strong finish to settled in third place on nine-under.

It means that Day could now slip down to No.3 in the rankings due to McIlory’s performance.
