Man charged over Nerang armed robbery

UPDATE: A MAN’S been charged over the armed robbery of a convenience store in Nerang.

Police allege he entered the Adalong Place shop around 9:30 am on Sunday and made demands for cash.

They further claim when the assistant didn’t initially hand over money he pulled out a gun

A 20-year-old Biggera Waters man has been charged with armed robbery and weapon offences.

He is expected to face Southport Magistrates Court today.

EARLIER: THERE are reports a masked gunman is on the run from police after he robbed a Lucky 7 convenience store at Nerang this morning.

The man allegedly entered the store at around 9:30am wearing a balaclava and demanding cash.

It is understood he fled the scene in a blue Holden Commodore sedan.

The man is described as being in his 20s, with a white shirt and black pants.
