Masked man steals cash from Gold Coast servo

A MASKED man wielding a large kitchen knife has stormed a Gold Coast servo in a frightening heist overnight.

It’s alleged the man entered the Matilda service station on Government Road at Labrador just before 9pm and demanded cash.

The cashier complied and the man fled the store with an unknown amount of cash. No one was injured in the hold up.

Multiple police crews, including PolAir and dog squad, swooped on the area in the hunt for the masked offender but to no avail.

He was described as being aged in his early 20s, and was wearing a black hooded jumper and mask over his face.

Police investigations are continuing.
