Passionate Modern Family fans may want to have some tissues at the ready when watching the upcoming season of the popular American sitcom.
Its been reported that a ‘significant character’ will die in the 10th season of the much-loved family comedy, which is set to air in the US at the end of this month.
Co-creator Christopher Lloyd broke the news in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on Thursday.

“We’re handling some bigger life events in this season,” Lloyd told the magazine.
“We do deal with a death, which is certainly a topic that families have to deal with, and on television, it’s not easy to do because that’s a heavy subject.
“But at the same time, it would seem unusual for a family not to go through it.”

It’s not yet been confirmed whether season 10 will be the last for the show, which has been a family favourite since premiering in 2010.
