Local commuters will soon have more spots to park at Ormeau train station, with work underway to increase the station’s car park capacity.
Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said an additional 70 car parks will be added to the station.
“When the car park is full, some commuters need to park in an informal overflow parking area next door,” Mr Bailey said.

“These works will deliver 70 additional car parks to the existing 270 formal parking spaces, providing commuters with easier access to train services when they need to travel into the city or beyond.”
Detailed design works have commenced and should be completed in the coming months, while construction is expected to start early next year.
