More charges laid over deadly pub brawl

Police have laid further charges over a fatal brawl at a Ballina pub last month.

Jesse Vilkelis-Curas was allegedly set upon at the pub in East Ballina on Sunday, December 22, following a dispute over a spilled beer.

The 24-year-old suffered critical head injuries and was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital but died six days later.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at a home in Tweed Heads West on Wednesday and charged with murder, assault occasioning death and affray.

Bryson Larsen-Tai was refused bail after fronting court on Thursday.

A 22-year-old was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, affray and assault in relation to the incident.

A 19-year-old man handed himself into Ballina Police Station yesterday where he was placed under arrest.

He was charged with affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and common assault.

The Alstonville man was granted conditional bail to appear at Ballina Local Court on Wednesday, February 12.

A fourth man, aged 26, from Ballina, has been issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice for possess prohibited weapon.

He will appear at Ballina Local Court on Wednesday, February 26.
