Most popular baby names for 2018 revealed

TRADITIONAL NAMES and royal influences continue to dominate the list of newborn baby names in New South Wales.

The top ten from 2018 has just been revealed, with Oliver and Charlotte topping the list for the fifth time in the past ten years, according to the state government.

In fact, you’ll likely meet a lot of Olivers in the future, with the name topping the boys’ list every year since 2014 and more than 600 of them born in 2018 alone.

Charlotte has spiked in popularity in recent years, following the birth of Princess Charlotte, the daughter of Prince William, whose name comes in at second. While his brother, Prince Harry is also represented through both his common name (Harry at 15) and his birth name, Henry (fifth).
