A 37-year-old mother of seven has been arrested for murder after the bodies of eight children were found in a Murray St home in the Cairns suburb of Manoora.
The bodies children aged between 18-months and 14-years-old were discovered yesterday morning by the woman’s 20-year-old son.

“The bodies have been removed from that residence,”said Inspector Asnicar.
“Autopsies will occur today.
“It will be after that we can comment about those sorts of things,” he said.
Inspector Asicar said the woman is in a stable condition with non-life threatening stab wounds, and remains under police guard in hospital.
He said she is in a lucid state, able to talk and assist Police with their investigation.
Police say they have taken posession of a number of possible murder weapons, but will not be speculating or releasing further details at this stage.
On Friday night there was a church service and candlelight vigil held by the far north Queensland community, and a collection of flowers from people in the area expressing their sadness continues to grow this morning.
