Motorcyclist dies after colliding with tip truck

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after colliding with a tip truck in northern New South Wales.

It happened on Bangalow Road at Clunes, 20km northwest of Lismore about 2.20pm.

Police said the motorcyclist, a man aged in his 50s, could not be saved and died at the scene.


It’s understood a Subaru Outback station wagon was also caught up in the accident.

Its driver, a 27-year-old woman, the 82-year-old man driving the truck, were not injured.

They were, however, both taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the incident is urged to come forward and call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
