Emergency crews rushed to the scene and performed CPR on the man before he was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Police confirmed in a statement a short time ago that the man sadly passed away in hospital overnight.

The fatal accident has prompted Police District Duty Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Kehoe to urge riders to take care on the roads, and ride to the conditions and your experience level.

“In the last week, two motorcyclists have died on Tweed/Byron roads, with another rider remaining in hospital,” Det Ch Insp Kehoe said.

“These vehicles are high-powered and can be fatal. Please ride with caution, stick to the speed limit and monitor your conditions”.
