Motorcyclist killed in FNQ crash

A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed after losing control of his bike in Far North Queensland.

It happened on Gulf Development Road, east of Georgetown about 11:50am on Saturday.

Police said the 56-year-old rider lost control of his bike, which left the road and crashed.

Sadly, the rider sustained life-threatening injuries and could not be saved.

Police confirmed the man from Kirwan was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
