Motorcyclist loses fight for life after Qld crash

A man who was involved in a motorbike crash north of Coen nearly two weeks ago has passed away in hospital.

Police confirmed the tragic news in a statement on Wednesday.

The 44-year-old motorcyclist was found unconscious on Peninsula Development Road, 30km north of Coen, by other members in his group about 12.20pm on September 2.

The man, from Paytens Bridge in NSW, was rushed to Townsville Hospital in a critical condition, however he died overnight.

Police say the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
