A MOTORCYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after becoming trapped under a four-wheel-drive following a nasty crash on a mountain south of Sydney.
Police said the motorcyclist collided with a Volkswagen 4WD on Mount Keira Road at Mount Keira, near Wollongong, about 4.45pm on Wednesday.
The rider, a 26-year-old man from West Wollongong, was critically injured in the collision.

Emergency services arrived at the scene to find the man trapped under the 4WD.
He was eventually freed and airlifted to St George Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The 18-year-old man driving the 4WD was left shaken, but not injured after the incident. He was taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Officers from Wollongong Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
