Motorist discovers body of teenage boy on rural road

INVESTIGATIONS are underway after the body of a teenage boy was found on a road east of Wagga Wagga early this morning.

A passing motorist made the tragic discovery on River Road in Wantabadgery just before 1.30am on Wednesday.

“The driver stopped to render assistance and discovered it was the body of a teenage boy,” NSW police said in a statement.

The teen has since been identified as a 15-year-old boy who lived in the small town of Wantabadgery.

Detectives from the Riverina Police District and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances of the boy’s death.
