A Gold Coast MP says land adjacent to Robina Stadium needs to be opened up to car parking on Titans’ game days.
The Member for Mermaid Beach, Ray Stevens, has told State Parliament, he has been pushing the issue since the stadium was first announced.
Mr Stevens says it will help attract more fans.

“It does not have to be a bitumen mass, it can be as it was in Moore Park for many, many years in Sydney, just a mowed grass area nice and flat,” he said.
“Unfortunately you wouldn’t be able to use it on wet days but on other days it would provide a much needed car park for the Titans to increase their patronage.”
Mr Stevens says parking is essential to increase patronage at the ground.
“I’d like to see the Gold Coast City Council work with the Titans club to look at opening up the 16 hectare site behind the stadium for public car parking on game days, which would open it up to hundreds of car parking spaces with access to the north of the stadium, which would alleviate congestion worries at the entrance of the stadium,” he said.
