Multiple hazard reduction burns shrouding the Gold Coast in smoke

A number of hazard reduction projects are still wreaking a smokey havoc on the Gold Coast this week.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services has released an updated list of local burn offs, with two happening locally today.

A planned burn is being carried out near the Hinze Dam, in the Advancetown Lake Area.

The Hinze Dam Eastern Horse Trail network will be shut from Mudgeeraba Springbrook Road, through to the access point on Little Nerang Road today.

While another burn is being carried out by Council within the Tourmaline Reserve in Reedy Creek, near Barden Ridge Road.

It’s expected to continue into tomorrow.

Gold Coasters are being warned of increased smoke around the area, and are being urged to keep windows and doors shut.

Those with breathing difficulties are being advised to keep medication nearby.
