Mars Petcare Australia, the owner of the MY DOG® brand, released a statement saying the health and wellbeing of Australian pets is their number one priority.

“While we have not received any reports of injury or illness associated with the affected product, we believed it is the right thing to do to recall it,” the statement reads.

If consumers believe they have one of the affected products, they can either discard the food or return it to the retailer for a full refund or exchange.

Steps are being taken to ensure that all affected products are taken off distributor shelves.

No other varieties or batches are believed to be affected, including the individual trays of that flavour, and the 6x packs.

“We understand that this recall may be concerning for pet owners, however no other MY DOG® varieties or batches are affected by the recall, and owners will still be able to find unaffected product on shelf,” the statement reads.
