Mystery surrounds the identity of a man found dead on a Gold Coast beach

POLICE are seeking help from the public to identify a man found dead at Main Beach on the Gold Coast.

The man, believed to aged in either his 60s or 70s, was found unconscious on the beach at around 8.20pm on Wednesday and was declared deceased a short time later.

Despite conducting extensive investigations overnight and throughout the day today, police have been unable to successfully identify the man.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged around 60 or 70 years old, and having a slim build.

The man was found wearing blue shorts, Dunlop Volley running shoes, a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) bracelet and a watch with a brown leather strap.

Police have confirmed the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

They are appealing for anyone who believes they may know the man to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
