One dead after car crashes into Brisbane home

A TEENAGE boy has been killed after the car he was in crashed into a house in Brisbane’s north overnight.

Police said the vehicle was travelling through Stafford about 2am when it left the road, ploughed through a fence and smashed into the front of a house on Appleby Road.

A passenger sitting in the back seat, believed to be a 15-year-old boy, was trapped in the wreck and died at the scene, police confirmed.

Police said a second person was taken to the Lady Cilento Hospital with minor injuries.

Neighbours told 9NEWS they saw two young males fleeing the scene immediately after the crash.

Appleby Road between Stafford Road and Redwood Streets remained closed this morning, with diversions in place.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
