One dead in Gold Coast crash

A MAN in his 40 has been killed in a single-vehicle crash on the northern Gold Coast.

Police said they were called to the scene at Steiglitz, north of Jacobs Well, about 6am on Sunday.

They arrived to find a vehicle overturned in waters off Walkers Jetty Road, near Cabbage Tree Point Road.

“The vehicle was located semi-submerged and on its roof,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

Sadly, the 45-year-old local man who was driving the vehicle could not be saved and died at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that could assist with the investigation is urged to come forward.
