One dead, one seriously injured in separate pedestrian accidents

A MAN has suffered significant head injuries after being hit by a vehicle on the southern Gold Coast.

He was struck on the Gold Coast Highway at Tugun around 9.05pm on Saturday.

Emergency services arrived to find him with significant head injuries.

He was rushed to the Gold Coast University hospital in a serious condition.

Diversions were in place for a short time as the Forensic Crash Unit investigated the scene.

Meantime, two hours later on the Sunshine Coast, a man died after being struck by a 4WD.

Officers were called to Eumundi-Noosa Road shortly after 11pm and emergency services commenced CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is also investigating this incident.
