Pedestrian struck and killed by train on level crossing

A WOMAN has been struck and killed by a train on a level crossing in country Victoria.

It happened on Forrest Street at Wendouree, in Ballarat, about 1.20pm on Thursday.

It’s understood the woman was struck by the 12.26pm Ararat-Southern Cross train.

Police are on the scene and have blocked off the street as they try and work out exaclty what happened.

The victim’s is believed to be aged in her mid-60s.

No further information was available at the time of writing.
