THE sun is set to shine over the Gold Coast on Christmas Day ahead of forecast showers, rain and thunderstorms.
Forecasters are tipping perfect Christmas weather with mostly sunny conditions set to dominate Gold Coast skies on Thursday.
Surfers Paradise is set to hit 30C, Coolangatta 29C and Robina 31C, while it’ll be a tad warmer inland, with 33C at Nerang.

But we’re being told to make the most of the good weather while it lasts, because it’s all set to change come Boxing Day.
High humidity will sweep over the area on Friday, with the chance of showers from late morning and a possible afternoon storm.
Showers are then expected to increase on Saturday with afternoon storms forecast for the remaining four days of the year.
The Bureau says about 10mm of rain could fall across the city on Friday, followed by another possible 25mm on Saturday.
