TODAY marks one year since Foreign Correspondent Peter Greste was arrested in Egypt and Journalists around the world are still fighting for his release.
Greste, 49, has been in custody since December 29, 2013 after he was sentenced to seven years imprisonment, along with two colleagues working for Qatari broadcaster Al Jazeera, after being convicted of broadcasting false news and aiding a terrorist organisation.
Greste’s appeal begins on January 1 with his parents marking the first anniversary of his detention in Egypt with a plea for his release.

The three men are appealing against the convictions on the grounds of flawed evidence.
