Pippa Middleton has given birth to first child

Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews have welcomed their first child.

Kate Middleton’s younger sister gave birth to a baby boy, weighing 8lb 9oz (3.88kg), at the Lindo Wing in west London at 1:58pm local time.

A spokeswoman for Pippa and James Matthews said, “Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well.”

In a statement from Kensington Palace, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said they were thrilled for the couple.

The news comes just a day after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed they are expecting a baby, after touching down in Australia for their royal tour.
