Police hunt gunman who stormed NSW hotel

A MAJOR manhunt is underway across Sydney to find a gunman who held up a hotel in the city’s inner west.

Police said the armed man stormed the Terminus Street hotel in Petersham just before 11am on Thursday.

He allegedly threatened a female staff member with the firearm before fleeing with a stash of cash.

Thankfully, no shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.

Police raced to the hotel and set up a crime scene but were unable to locate the man, despite searching the area.

An operation is now underway to identify and locate the armed offender.

He is described by police as being of Caucasian appearance and approximately 170cm tall and was wearing a blue hooded jumper and black pants.
