A police officer has been charged over the alleged assault of a teenage boy in Byron Bay last year.
The NSW serving officer is accused of tasering the 16-year-old and repeatedly striking him with a baton whilst arresting the intoxicated teen in January 2018.
Footage of the arrest went viral on social media, sparking a major investigation by The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.

Following a lengthy review, the officer was issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for common assault on Wednesday.
He is due to appear in Byron Bay Local Court on Monday 2 December.
