Police renew public appeal into death of man in South Murwillumbah

DETECTIVES investigating the brutal murder of a man at Murwillumbah earlier this year have renewed their public appeal for help to catch his killer.

Just after 5am on Friday June 13, emergency services were called to a home on Quarry Road where they found a man’s body.

The 46-year-old had suffered extensive injuries. His 25-year-old son was also found with a minor head injury inside the home and told police he was woken by a man who threatened him before he was tied up and assaulted.

Strike force detectives are today renewing an appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist the investigation to come forward.

In particular, police would like to speak with anyone who saw a woman at the home or in Quarry Road at the time of the incident.

It’s believed the woman had been seen in the area in the months prior to the assault and could assist police with inquiries.

She is described as being aged in her early to mid 20s, tall and has short blonde hair.

Inquiries are continuing.
