Police shocked after driver caught doing 115km in school zone

A MAN has lost his licence after being caught allegedly driving at 115km/h through a school zone.

Officers were conducting speed enforcement duties near a primary school on Heathcote Road in Hammondville around 8.30am on Monday, when they detected a Ford Falcon XR8 allegedly exceeding the 40km/h school zone limit.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was stopped and spoken to by police.

He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h and driving at a speed dangerous to the public.

His NSW driver’s licence was also confiscated and suspended for six months, whilst the car’s registration plates were also seized, and the registration cancelled for three months.

The man is due to appear in Liverpool Local Court next month.
