Feeling cold this winter? Well, warm up with a hot cuppa at a local park – the City of Gold Coast is installing new hot water systems at six parks around town.
Mayor Tom Tate said: “We have 2200 parks across the city enjoyed by millions of people every year. I’m always looking at adding new facilities to boost the enjoyment of visitors. Hot water systems like this add to a family’s day out and make a great cup of coffee on a winter’s day,’’ he said.
The taps are enclosed in child-proof fencing, and can be found at:

- Hollindale Park, Main Beach;
- Pratten Park, Broadbeach;
- Justin’s Park, Burleigh;
- Laguna Park, Palm Beach;
- Kropp Park, Tugun; and
- RT Peak Memorial Park, Coolangatta.
The Mayor added that said he would look to budget for more hot water systems across the coast in 2017-18.
