Preparations underway for city’s first Renaissance Faire

BROADBEACH’S Pratten Park will be transformed on Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th of May for the Coast’s first ever Renaissance Faire.

A living theatre-style event, the Faire will transport visitors back in time to a 16th Century Elizabethan country fair, where they will be able to interact and engage with authentic Renaissance entertainment, arts and crafts, food, drink and costumed performers.

Event director David Russel said, “There is something for all ages at this colourful, exciting, romantic and interactive event.”
“It will be a full day of merriment for all.”

More than 50 volunteers have been enlisted with the help of Volunteering Gold Coast of to get the event up and running, including seamstresses, actors and games co-ordinators.

Volunteering Gold Coast ‘s Tanya Haumu said they are excited to be involved in the unique event.

“We’ve had an overwhelming response from our volunteers so far, but will continue to seek more volunteers to help make the event a success” she said.
