Pushbike rider dies after being hit and dragged by truck

A CYCLIST has tragically died after being hit and dragged by a truck on Brisbane’s northside.

It happened on the corner of Hudson and Albion Roads in Albion around 3pm on Friday.

It’s understood a man in his 30s riding a pushbike collided with a semi-trailer.

The truck is then believed to have dragged the bike along the road for several metres before the driver was able to come to a stop.

A team of paramedics tried desperately to keep the river alive but sadly, he could not be saved.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
