A MAN has been charged after a woman was allegedly subjected to a series of horrific assaults, which included being choked and stabbed.
Police were called to a home at Kennedy around 3.30pm on January 13 following reports of a fight between a man and woman.
Upon arrival at the house, officers located a woman in her 30s with a number of injuries after she was allegedly “slapped and grabbed by the hair several times.”

“It will be alleged that on January 11 the woman was also assaulted by a man at the address during which time she was choked,” police said in a statement.
“It will be further alleged that another assault occurred on January 12 during which time the woman sustained two stab wounds from a knife, one in her thigh and the other her arm.”
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 41-year-old Innisfail man has since been charged with unlawful strangulation – domestic violence offence, unlawful wounding – domestic violence offence and assault occasioning bodily harm – domestic violence offence.
He appeared in the Innisfail Magistrates Court on Monday and has been remanded in custody to re-appear on February 4.
